Rubber facts
The term organic rubber is used to determine materials manufactured with a polymer having a “back bone” consisting predominately of carbon-to-carbon linkage. Natural rubber was the first such material available and is produced from the sap of the rubber tree. World War II interrupted the supply and crash programs brought on the development of synthetic rubber products such as silicone we know today.
